It’s not an easy task to build a relationship with other bloggers. Like all other relationships, you have to work had to cultivate and maitian the relationship for it to benefit you. Here are a few tips on how to this effectively.

Show their site some love

How many times do you visit a fellow blogger’s site and like his posts or share them to your networks? A relationship can begin with you simply showing you like the quality of the content on the site. You could also comment on their posts with compliments or start a discussion topic.

Doping this makes you a “fan” of the site and they will remember you at some point and you cna grow that relationship into something bigger and better.

Say “Thank You”

So someone has left a comment on your blog, or they shared your link on their social media pages.  Showing gratitude is something you should enhance and foster. Say “Thank You” for their feedback, for sharing your content. You can show your gratitude through tweets, replying on the comment or via email. For everything a blogger says about your blog or the content, show that you appreciate their words.

One thing is to ensure that your gratitude is genuine and not done with ulterior motives.

Ask for guest posts

Guest posts are one way to reach out to fellow bloggers. It doesn’t matter if your blog isn’t as well read as another blogger’s, it never hurts to ask for a guest post. Bloggers will rarely turn down an opportunity for exposure.

Once you have a guest post, you can begin conversation with the blogger. Talk to them about the post, their area of speciality. Let the guest post be the starting pint of a relationship that will be mutually beneficial.
