BAKE to have Chapter launch and training at Daystar university

To improve representation of blogging and online content creation outside of Nairobi and in tertiary institutions, the Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) is setting up regional chapters in Kenya as well as in various institutions of higher learning.

Daystar, a Christian liberal arts university in Nairobi will be the first institute of higher learning will be the first chapter opened. The University combines impressive modern facilities and a dynamic approach to teaching and research.

The chapter will be opened in two phases, a launch and training session. 22nd March 2014 will be the Creatives Academy training at the Valley Road campus. It will run from 8-11am.

The training will be facilitated by Robert Kunga and Harriet Ocharo and will focus on publishing online for blogs an social network sites.

The BAKE chapter launch will be held on 26th March at the Athi River Campus and will feature the same training as the Valley Road training as well as the official chapter launch.

The training at Valley Road will be open to the public at a cost of Kshs. 500 without getting a certificate of attendance and Kshs. 1,000 to get the certificate. The Athi River campus training will however only be open to Daystar students
