The 5th annual Broadcast, Film and Music Africa (BFMA) Conference is set to take place on 26-27 May 2014 at KICC. BFMA is a pan-African forum organized by AITEC Africa that brings together stakeholders in broadcast film and music. The conference allows for current stars, aspiring artistes and scriptwriters as well as content developers, to meet, deliberate and explore ideas and strategies to leverage and enhance their creative talents on the world stage through the rapidly changing digital media The theme for the 2014 conference is ‘Afriwood Rising’, the theme is reflective of the conferences’ objective to challenge the industry to think and act regionally, work on cross-continent co-productions and work towards establishing an pan-African broadcast film and music brand. Dubbed the diversity programme, the platform comprises of 5 unique opportunities that include:
- The Kenya Film-makers Pavilion: Supported by the Kenya Film Commission, this platform offers free demo pods for up to 30 Kenyan film and video Start-ups)
- The Animation Pavilion – Similar to the Film Makers Pavilion, this platform offers free demo pods for up to 20 animation start-ups
- The Media Mall – An expo platform for the region’s emerging radio and TV broadcasters to network.
- Africa Media Business Exchange: In its third, year and a special facility at BFMA, this platform
provides match-making services for creatives from across the continent seeking investment funds to pitch their ideas to investors from across Africa and beyond.
- Film and Video SME Hub: Platform for creatives, agencies facility and service providers to showcase their ideas, services and equipment to the event participants
