How to get people to read your entire post

blog

Writing a blog post takes a lot of time and energy. Sometimes you write a very captivating story and your readers will comment something about a word at the end of the post. Such comments make you feel like what you wrote was important because people read the whole post. Other times, someone will point out how they stopped reading your post in the second paragraph.

It’s not guaranteed that someone will read your entire post. There are many reasons for this, short attention span, dull writing language, lack of information etc. Whatever the reason, you need to work to having people read your whole post form start to finish.

Here are a few ways you can do that.

Tell a story.

A blog post is all about telling a story, a complete story. You need to have an introduction, the body and conclusion. Make your content about your personal experiences so people can relate to it. People will read a whole post because the suspense in your story makes them eager to get to the conclusion. They want and need to know more, they need to get all the information available. Use this to your advantage and tell a compelling story.

Write content they can relate to

People are bound to read your content if they can relate to it and learn something form it. This ties in to you telling a complete story. You can have the elements of a story, but if the reader does not fell connected to your narrative, you will lose their attention. Pick scenarios your audience can relate to and get a few tips from and write around that. it will help you retain people’s attention

Organize your content

Organized content is bound to have people read your whole post. Let your words and thoughts flow in a logical manner. One paragraph should precede and expound more on your trail of thought. You will be more organized by having an outline of your content. Plan how you want the post to be. Think of everything you need to say, visualize and compile it logically. It’s not just about what people see, they need to also understand it. If we understand your work, we will read every word of it. Arrange your work visually and conceptually to ensure people understand every word of it.

Never worry about the length

Length shouldn’t affect your writing. When you sit down to do a post, write until it’s logical conclusion. Don’t let the number of words dictate your content. If you are worried about the length, your thoughts will be jumbled as you cut off the words to fit in the desired length. You will end up with illogical words that will have people only reading half the post.

These few ideas are not guaranteed to work on everyone. But they are enough to entice more of your readers to read every word you publish. Try them out and have fun generating content people will enjoy reading fully.
