BAKE holds a successful training in Kisumu

Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) held a one day training for bloggers based in Western Kenya at Kisumu’s Triple Trojan Hotel on 23rd of August 2014.

The hands on training which targeted both established bloggers and aspiring bloggers in the Western Part of the country saw the participants trained from the basics of blogging such as blog creation, content creation to more advanced elements of the trade which involved training on how to market their blogs and approach corporate for advertizing.

The training was facilitated by BAKE Directors Kennedy Kachwanya and Njeri Wangari who are both established bloggers in Nairobi. The training which was sponsored by BAKE also provided the BAKE Western Kenya Chapter with an avenue of recruiting new blogging talent and social media enthusiast.

The participants were mainly drawn from local universities in western Kenya but there was a considerable representation of professionals running social media accounts for Corporates and Non-Governmental Organizations in the region.

The attendees got to learn blogging basics as well as know about the opportunities available for bloggers.
The participants expressed their gratitude to BAKE for organizing the event which they all termed as “Insightful” and promised to put to practice the skills acquired at the event.

Other than the training, the participants were also provided with a unique opportunity to network with people they only knew about in social media circles but had never met in person.

BAKE is now looking forward to organizing a Word Camp in Kisumu soon.
