It’s that time of the year again; Story Moja Festival is back in town, and BAKE is going to be part of it.
The Story Moja Hay Festival was founded in 2008 in collaboration with the Hay Festival UK. It is a four day celebration of our stories and culture through storytelling, books, live discussion forums, workshops and music. This year marks the 6th annual event and will be held at The Nairobi National Museum from 17th September to 21st September. The theme is ‘Imagine The World: Waza Dunia’. The festival is a 4 day celebration of our stories, our contemporary culture through story telling books, live performance and music. It will bring together novelists, poets, storytellers and other literary minds for a chance to explore and promote the reading culture in Kenya.
BAKE is once again going to take up a role in the festival. Only this time it’s bigger and more involving. We are set to have 4 sessions during the 4 day festival. The sessions are as follows:
How to blog : A lively workshop
We shall have two lively sessions on how to blog. The sessions will involve taking attendees through the process of setting up blogs and helping them put up their first post. All the Do’s and Don’t’s of the blogging world shall be addressed.
Session 1 will be on Wednesday 17th September from 12:00pm to 12:45pm at the Careerpedia tent for anyone aged 14 and above. Our Chairman Kennedy Kachwanya and Lulu Akaki, our Communications Manager will facilitate this workshop.
Session 2 will be on Thursday 18th September from 12:00pm to 12:45pm at the Careerpedia tent for anyone aged 14 and above. This session shall be facilitated by Sam Wakoba of Techmoran, Magunga Williams and Naomi Wanjiru of FemmeHub.
How To Blog MasterClass
This will be an interactive 3 hour session where you will get inspiration from renowned Kenyan bloggers. It will be held on Friday 19th September from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Kanga Tent. Join our Director of Programs; Njeri Wangari, James Wamathai, our Director of Finance and Partnerships and Owaahh of Too late for worms for a lively and interactive session.
Bloggers Roll Call
On Saturday 20th September from 9:00am to 10:30am, we shall be at the Ford Hall ready to meet and network with bloggers. The BAKE team will be there to meet and get to know everyone who makes up the Kenyan blogging world. It’s your chance to hang-out with all your favorite bloggers and you won’t want to miss it.
