As a blogger, you might have realized that some deadlines are hard to beat. You have to publish a post by a given time but there just doesn’t seem to be enough time to do so. Sometimes you even end up putting out a post half-heartedly. You feel like you haven’t given it your best shot and it’s not well written. You end up wishing you had more time to work on it.
Time management is something everyone needs to think of. More so for the bloggers who get paid to write. Here are a few tips to help you in managing your time for maximum effect.
Brainstorm topics
You need to come up with a list of topics and consider what needs to be focused on at particular time. It will save you a lot of times as you already have a set list of topics to guide you when you need to write. Brainstorming topics will also give you a list of points to focus on meaning all you need to do is relax and let the information flow rather than think long and hard about everything from scratch.
Get an editorial calendar
A calendar is quite effective as it will let you know what needs to be done and by what date. You can then space out the posts and plan well in advance how to write them. It will also ensure that you don’t plan posts too close together so you get enough time to work on one post and can meet your deadlines.
Focus on one thing at a time
Sometimes your issues with meeting deadlines might be because of doing too many things at a time. You need to focus on your writing and shut off everything else. Close down the many tabs and windows open on your machine and let the only thing you do be your writing. It’s also a good idea to do one post a time. Don’t start different posts and leave them pending. Complete one post before you move onto the next and your blogging should run smoothly.
Learn to say no
There are times where the only reason you don’t have enough time to blog well is because you have too many things to do. People ask you to attend events and you say yes, they send you content and you agree to publish. You end up having too many things on your calendar and there just isn’t enough tome oto blog. It’s okay to say no, when you already have too much on your plate, turn down offers. You will be more effective when you have less to deal with.
