So early this week I spent some time with the Community manager, at the ihub, Mugethi Gitau. If you are a techy working at the Ihub then there’s a high chance you’ve got in contact with her at some point. She was kind enough to let me in on the iHub turns % celebration coming up next week.
We had a great conversation , that gave me some #didyouknow moments.
For example, Since launching in March of 2010, the innovation hub has grown from strength to strength to become an established, independent market leader. A huge benefit for anybody who loves tech and would like to be part of a community.
Their milestones can’t really be quantified but they’ve moved to create an ecosystem for their members and have successfully ventured into among other avenues: iHub Research, iHub Consulting, iHub Super computing Cluster, and the iHub User Experience (UX) Lab not forgetting, the Mlab and ihub initiative as well as the Gear box (A hardware community/incubation space).
Offering a wide range of membership programs from white, green and Red, members get access to a tonne of services, information, event space, and probably most importantly from aspiring start up founders networking opportunities with highly experienced individuals.
Great stuff, and now the Ihub turns 5 aptly marking this achievement with a huge celebration taking place on March 7th at the Arboretum from 2pm to the Am.
Branded the largest gathering in Kenya, ever, we anticipate an action packed event. You can enjoy while you network with the Tech fair and showcase, mingle while you sample food and drinks and take in the night and party to the sounds of Just-a-band, H_art the band, with Mix master Lenny on the deck… Yep sounds like a really good time.
Definitely a worth while event nobody should miss, but you might if you don’t register and get your tickets ASAP. Down to the last 1000 tickets. So get on it today.
