The Law and Internet in Kenya training undertakes to shed light on the correlation between the Internet, the law and the state. We have taken these trainings to Nyeri and Nakuru and now we are set to have one in Mombasa as well.
During the training, participants will learn about the constitution, the legal system, the criminal law process and intellectual property rights. Other topics include confidentiality, defamation, communication laws and privacy, consumer law and social media policies among other related topics.
The training is in collaboration with Mr. Mugambi Laibuta who is the team leader of Mugambi Laibuta & Associates. Mr. Laibuta is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is full of experience in legal research and project management.
Riva Jalipa will also take part in the training. Riva is a legal officer at Article 19. She is involved in legal research, analysis, legislative drafting and advocacy on right to information and freedom of expression in East and Horn of Africa.
The training is set for Saturday, the 29th August, 2015 at Muslim Education & Welfare Association (MEWA) Library, behind Masjid Mousa – along Mwabundu road next to MEWA Hospital in Mombasa.
The Law and Internet in Kenya training is part of iFreedoms Kenya, an initiative that falls under Kenya Monitor – a citizen journalism arm of BAKE.
