See you at the Storymoja Festival 2015!

Storymoja Festival 2015

The Storymoja Festival 2015 will be held at the Nairobi Arboretum from the 16th – 20th September. This is the 8th edition and we will be partnering with Storymoja once again to cover blogging sessions that will see you learn all there is to know about blogging while giving you a chance to meet and chat with Kenyan bloggers.

Our sessions will be stretched through four days of the five-day festival. This year is particularly special because we have planned a session for Teens to learn about the safe usage of the internet and social media – a training that we feel is necessary in this digital age as the internet is increasingly attracting children at a fairly tender age.

Other than address just the basics of blogging, we will go further and look into content creation as a money-generating enterprise. For those who have always wondered how to make money from blogging and content creation in general, this will be your chance to take some valuable lessons home with you.

These are our planned sessions during the festival;

A guide to being a Teen on the internet & using Social Media
This is a one-hour blogging session for students in the age group of 15-19 yrs of age. It will be held for the three weekdays – from Wednesday 16th to Friday 19th – and will run from 9am to 10am on all the three days.

The trainers for this session are Rayhab Gachango and Wanjiru Kihusa

Online Content Creation & Monetization Masterclass
Most people don’t just blog as a hobby anymore, and neither should you. This Masterclass will teach you how to make money from your blog. Put your business caps on and come and learn how to monetize your blog and even earn a living from it. The masterclass, which will target adults of all ages, is slated for Friday 18th from 2pm to 5pm.

The trainers are Kennedy Kachwanya, Njeri Wangari and James Wamathai.

NB: Pre-registration by payment of KES.500 is necessary to secure a slot for this masterclass. You can register for this Masterclass here.

The ABC of Blogging & Social media
For those interested in learning the basics of blogging, this one is for you. Bloggers with loads of experience in blogging will guide you and even set you to be the next talking point in social media. The session begins at 11am and ends at 1pm on Saturday 19th.

The trainers for this session are James Wamathai, Njeri Wangari and Kennedy Kachwanya

All our sessions will take place in the Arboretum Park at Nairobi Arboretum.

It is our intention to keep all the sessions as interactive, relaxed and as fun as possible so get out your diaries and commit to spending these dates with us.
