The 2016 theme is Transforming Lives, which seeks to create conversation on how social media has directly impacted lives through platforms, organizations and influential individuals.

This is an endeavor to highlight how social media can transform the community if all stakeholders continue to champion for a better society through social media.

With this year’s theme, the OLX SoMA seeks to build capacity to positively influence the society through personalities and organizations, highlight how social media has transformed lives in the society and encourage good use of the internet to enhance online safety and above all, recognize and award the best of the best in social media.

Martin Muli says, “Our growing love of social media has not just changed the way we communicate – it’s changing the way we do business, the way we are governed, and the way we live in society. And it’s doing so at breakneck speed that those who dare step out of the bandwagon even for a day may end up lagging behind forever.”

The 2016 OLX SoMA will be hosted by Jeff Koinange.
