Everyone wants to start something new in their lives one way or another at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to the starting point. The difference between those who become successful versus those who keep waiting for the right moment is measured by whether they choose to start or watch the days pass by.
Have you been wanting to start a blog but you keep saying ‘Not now’, ‘This is not the right moment’, I need to find time first’ and many more other statements. These are only excuses we create that make us move nowhere. Excuses do not amount to anything. The only way to make sure excuses are dealt with is to face all circumstances and start. It has been said; ‘Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.’ – Arthur Ashe. The only person who is stopping you from doing something is you. No one else is playing a part in you starting a blog or whichever ideas you may have. Sometimes we like blaming other people for our failure to do something. We should stop the blame games and focus on ourselves and just start.
There are several reasons why starting is important in blogging, especially as a beginner. If you want to be a successful and well reputable blogger, you have to begin from scratch. If you cannot afford to self-host, why not begin with the already available free blogging platforms such as WordPress, Medium, Tumblr and BlogSpot among others. These reasons will hopefully get you on the path to starting your blog journey.
Start Small
Start small, move fast and learn as much as you can from each blog post you publish. Never stop writing blog posts, because sooner or later you will succeed and develop the skills and expertise required in writing. Build good blogging habits from Day one. If you want to be a writer, start writing. This is a very obvious fact. Remember, ‘successful people start before they feel ready.’- Richard Brandson
All bloggers start in the same place: fewer resources, no contacts, no experience in blogging or the digital world. The difference is that award winning bloggers chose to start anyway.
All You Need is One Idea
The idea doesn’t need to be big; sometimes small ideas make great blogs. Think about one thing you know how to do and you can write well on that other people would also like to know how about or even be entertained on. Have you ever visited another country or a new town, even just one? Odds are, someone out there wants to know how what are they can do there and what they need to do before they go, what they should do when they get there, and so on.
Maybe you love cooking. Why not share your culinary skills on an online platform! The list of ideas to start a blog topic on are very endless.
To build a successful blog, you will need to stop procrastinating. Most of the tasks that we procrastinate on are not actually difficult to do. Therefore, just start.
