Today, the corporate industries are realizing that blogging is not just a way to share thoughts, opinions, and ideas. It’s a way to develop a community in the online space, grow a loyal follower base and build a business brand. It has become a gateway to connect with customers where they can easily learn about a company and connect from the human perspective.

Blogging has been around since the 1990’s, but it didn’t really start to pick up in the online space until around 2005, although some may argue it happened sooner than that. Nevertheless, blogging was done as a part time activity to share one’s views online. It was not considered as a way to earn a living from. Today, blogging has been able to be a monetizing tool and many people are earning from it.

Blogging has become a new age marketing tool. With all the advances in technologies, the overwhelming increase in the choices of products and services in the market and growth of business and enterprises, people are beginning to approach bloggers. These are bloggers able to articulate what a company does in an effective way that the customer can be able to understand. This makes it easier for customers to stick with a company since what they do is easily outlined and news and information get to the customer at a faster rate, considering we are in the digital age.

However, not all, new and already established bloggers and social media marketers understand the skills required in blogging. This is particular to the online code of conduct and how they can use this platform to write about social and public health issues, active citizenship as well as women and girls issues. These are issues that the society needs information on and awareness to promote better living among ourselves.

These blogging niches are less explored. We continue to feed this need by taking our Blogging and Social Media Training to various counties around the country. The next county, therefore, to benefit from such a training is Embu.
