I have had an Android for the last couple of years. Every time i hang out with one of my techie friends they are constantly adding new apps or complain I am not taking advantage of the free ones I simply must have. I like the essentials, those apps that allow me to do my job and communicate.
Here are the top 10 free apps I figure anyone on Android must have.
Facebook is the most used social media site in the world. Anyone on a smartphone must download this app. The app on Android isn’t so bad and it is more enjoyable than using it via the browser on your phone..
Who doesn’t want whatsapp on their phonoe? Everyone I know with a smartphone has whatsapp installed in their phones whisch probably makes it the most used messaging service in the world. It offers a cheap alternative to text though only works with people who also have it on their phones.
When I go through someone’s phone and there is not twitter app all I think is “You’re not on twitter! What?!” This is the second most used social media site and has a really awesome android app. If you are a social media addict, then having this app ensures you can feed your addiction easily.
Selfie, groundies, climbies… need I say more? If you love capturing moments in your life and sharing them with the world, you must download Instagram. It also works well if you like certain celebrities and want to stay up to date with their life.
Antivirus
The choices for antiviruses are vast on the android app market though the most used are AVG and Avast. Android phones are prone to getting viruses, only way to keep your data safe is to have a trusted antivirus.
Adobe reader
If you read a lot of PDF documents then you definitely need a PDF reader. Adobe is at the top of the list for me.
Amazon Kindle
If you’re a lover of books then this is the app for you. I am a book addict and Amazon is my best friend as I get to feed my addiction and travel to different worlds in all the books I read.
Dropbox
If you tend to fill up your phone with photos and documents, additional space is needed. Other than the Sd card, Dropbox makes a good provider of extra space. Some devices come with it readily installed while you have to download it yourself on other devices.
Swiftkey
Did you know you can change the keyboard used throughout your Android phone. I love Swiftkey and how it makes it easy to type when the inbuilt keyboard fails. As well as offering a decent core keyboard and lots of personalisation, there’s also gesture typing and very good autocorrection engine.
