Andy Irvine in his song Never Tire of the Road, he says:
“Never tire of the Road!
Never tire of the rolling wheels, Never tire of the ways of the world, way out yonder is calling me
And the dark road leads me onward, and the highway is my code
And that lonesome voice that I heard in my head said
Never tire of the road”
Never tire of the rolling wheels, Never tire of the ways of the world, way out yonder is calling me
And the dark road leads me onward, and the highway is my code
And that lonesome voice that I heard in my head said
Never tire of the road”
Antony Mbugua is reminiscent of that song. With a BAKE award nomination to his name, he believes that if you don’t tire, you will get to where ever you want to be in life. He shares his love for Harry Potter, Entertainment and Fena Gitu.
Share something interesting about your self.
My eyes sometimes appear as though they have a blue tinge to them which people mistake for complete blue eyes.
What was your favourite toy growing up?
Cars. Imagining myself inside one and driving it always gave me a rush.
What attracted/ inspired you into entertainment blogging?
A South African entertainment blogger called Phil Mphela. I have followed him ever since I was in high school and through him, my love for film, TV, celebs and the arts grew seeing the different dynamics of the industry. He not only shares entertainment pieces but key industry figures and gives commentary which I think lacks in our country.
What accomplishments are you proud of most?
Getting nominated for BAKE Awards in 2019 and competing alongside Mpasho and Zumi. That was a huge moment for me and I’m proud of myself for that.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Nerdy. Funny. Ambitious.
What is your fav food, song, book, movie?
My fave food is fried chicken and pilau. I play Jabulani by Fena Gitu way too many times in a day. Atomic Habits by James Clear is a book that has helped me set habits and goals. I keep going back to it every now and then. Harry Potter films are my all-time fave movies and especially the Deathly Hallows. I’m a Potterhead.
If you were not a blogger, what would you be instead?
If I were not a blogger I’d probably be an artist. I draw sometimes. Or a fashion photographer. I love fashion editorial shoots.
Is there a quote/mantra you live by?
If God brought it to you, He’ll see you through it.
If you could time travel, where would you go?
I’d probably go back to ancient Rome or Greece. I’d love to see what art meant to them, the idea behind their artworks and the like.
If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
I’d be Storm from X-Men. She can control the weather and nature elements. With this bipolar Nairobi weather, I think we deserve someone who can control it. And maybe send rain to regions that deserve it the most to prevent hunger. And lastly, make more trees grow magically. Weird, huh?
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
The best piece of advice…hmmm… Never get tired (‘Usiwahi choka’). Never get tired of trying. Never get tired of being better. Never get tired of being kind. The minute you allow yourself to ‘tire’, is the minute you lose yourself.
