Titus Wekesa Sifuna, the man who, early this week faced prosecution for impersonating President William Ruto on X through the controversial ‘I Must Go’ account has been released on a bond of Sh1 million.
Prior to his arrest, the suspect, had impersonated President Ruto by using his photograph as a profile picture and adopting a username suggestive of the president’s resignation.
He was arrested earlier this week and arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts, where he faced charges related to impersonation and publishing false information contrary to the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.
The court granted the suspect release on a Sh1 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000 . He was also ordered to refrain from making further public statements related to the case on social media until the matter is concluded.
The case is set for mentioning in court in May 2025 as investigations continue.
